He was the son of George Freeman & Annie Neale Higginson of The Square Tenbury Wells, and older brother of Captain Tom Arthur Higginson (KSLI). K.I.A 19.9.1915. Both he and his brother attended Tenbury C of E School. They are remembered on the Memorial Board in the School Hall and on the WW1 Memorial Plaque in St Marys Church Tenbury Wells.

Private Howells was seriously wounded in the battle of the Somme and was brought back to England and died at Shorncliffe. He is laid to rest at
St Marys Church, Tenbury Wells. he was educated at Tenbury C of E School and is remembered on the Memorial Board in the School Hall.

Private James was the son of Mr & Mrs William James of Berrington Road and attended Tenbury C of E School. He was a regular soldier having served 12 years in India, Italy and France and was one of four sons, all who saw War service. Private James contacted influenza whilst on active service and died of pneumonia in a military hospital in France. he is buried in grave II.C.13 at the CWG Cemetery at Valenciennes, St Roch.

He was the son of Richard ( Master Boot maker) and Jane Jones (nee Jukes of Stokesay). he was born at Craven Arms, Shropshire. The family moved to 41 Cross Street Tenbury Wells in the early 1900's where they set up a cobblers business. he attended Tenbury C of E School where he is remembered on the memorial Board in the School Hall and he is also remembered on the Memorial Plaque in St Marys Church Tenbury Wells.

Lt Murray is buried in Grave B 6 at the CWG Carnoy Cemetery, Somme. Educated at Pocklington, Yorkshire. Fourth son of Dr & Mrs Murray, The Parks, Tenbury Wells. Prior to the war he had worked for London & Smiths Bank of Simla, in Bombay. His older brother, Commander John Murray RN was killed in action in December 1915 whilst serving on HMS Natal.

Gunner Shinner was the youngest son of Walter Shinner (cashier at Lloyds Bank Tenbury) he was a pupil at Tenbury C of E School where he is remembered on the Memorial Plaque in the school hall and in St Marys Church Tenbury. Gunner Shinner was in a invalid home, following service in Mesopotamia where he contracted Malarial fever and concussion caused by heavy gun fire. He died in Kidderminster Hospital and the Funeral took place at St John's Church, Kidderminster.

Private Wheeler was the son of George Edward & Frances Olive Wheeler and was born on the 14th December 1885 and he attended Tenbury C of E School where he is remembered on the Memorial Board in the School hall. he lived with his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Elizabeth, Ashfield, Tenbury Wells. His father was a draper in the town. their shop Wheeler and Sons was in market street in the premises that later become Tudges and is now Swift's Bakery. he enlisted in London. His body now lies in Grave JS in the Pond Farm Cemetery, Heuvelland, West Vlaandiren Belgium. There is a Plaque in St Marys Church commemorating his sacrifice together with the cross from his original grave.

He is also remembered on panel 104 to 113, on the Helles memorial in Turkey and on the St Michaels School Memorial Board in St Michaels Church.

Private Watkins was the son of John & Mary J Watkins of Rock Hall Farm, Greete, Tenbury Wells. He is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial which commemorates nearly, 4,000 Allied soldiers killed, mainly in the battle of Aisne and the Marne during the German spring offensive of 1918. Private Watkins is remembered on the War memorial at St Michaels Church.
